tractor warning light wiring

Have a Case comfort king with the idiot lights in the dash for generator and oil. These were not wired when I got the tractor. How are these suposed to be wired? The body of the lights are grounded. I belive the pressure switch just closes ground as it only has one wire. If that is true how do I wire the lights? I changed it over to an alternator set up too and was going to wire that into the gen light.

Thanks.

If the oil pressure switch has only one terminal. it is either normally open, or normally closed. (usually normally closed.)
The warning light is not grounded at the light, it will have two leads. (or the wrong light is in the hole). One lead goes to the ignition, the other goes to the pressure sw. wwhen the engine is on not running, the Switch is closed lighting the light. When it starts, the Oil pressure opens the switch and the light goes out.
The alternator is a different animal, and we need to know what kind it is, and if it is a modified version of that. There are too many variables to try to guess. JimN
