4020 PTO brake

I have a 1965 4020 with a synchro shift transmission. The PTO seems to work just fine. I noticed today when I pull the PTO lever out that it would almost fall back into the brake position from neutral I know in the past that it would take a little bit of effort to pull it back into brake and it did work. Now in brake position it still takes a little effort to turn the PTO but it’s not locked down. Is there an adjustment for the brake? I have an owner’s manual and an IT manual and there is nothing in it about adjusting the PTO brake. Is this a one step adjustment when the PTO is adjusted?
