what is the name for those huge pieces of 6 sided allen wrench that you can put on a ratchet -

I have a couple oil level check plugs that are rusted shut (my bet is it is low on oil) - looks like a drum bung with the threads on the outside...the head of a 1/2" bolt fits in perfectly - i tried welding a nut on a grade 8 bolt - but it twists off easily -

Is this what you need?

you"ve answered your own question.
Allen wrenches are available in many sizes, from
mini, to over an inch, and larger, from the tool
trucks- Snap-On, Matco, Mac, to Crapsman, and
auto parts stores. In the "L" shaped version, to
ones with 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 drive sockets.

I SAW A CHUNK OFF A ALLEN WRENCH, DROP IT IN A STD. SOCKET.
I ALWAYS SLIDE A PIPE OVER THE REGULAR ALLEN SO SHORTEN THEM DOES NOT MATTER.

Find a hex nut that fits the recess, weld the nut to a short hex headed bolt, put a socket on the head of the bolt.

My 2 sets of them, made by Wright, are 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive. The 1/2" drive goes to 1/2". Never needed any size larger but I would think Wright could furnish any size you needed up to the max size commonly used on consumer products. Industrial and commercial is another game.Would a hard bolt with double nutts on the shank with a head that would fit the Allen Screw and a long handled Breaker Bar do the job? I've used rigged up combinations like that before.
