Have very slow air leak on left front tire on 08 Explorer.Will lose about two pounds in a week.First realized it when warning light came on.Took it to tire shop,they could'nt find the leak cause it is so slow.What should I do now to find the leak? help
 
does it have alloy or steel wheels? if alloy, it could be a porous casting on the wheel, or, corrosion around the bead sealing area.
 
Two pounds in one week could be caused by the effects of tempeture changes on the pressure. This is not an alarming drop. Remember that even with the same amount of air in a tire the pressure changes with the tempeture.
 
Make some strong dishwater [enough to do suds], run the pressure up to 50 or so pounds and set it in the water. Check it a couple of times a day. You should see bubbles at least after the original suds go away. Seeps around the rim or thru the sidewall where the treat is coming loose are pretty hard to find.
 
2 L pop bottle. Poke a hole in the cap and fill it with water and a good bunch of soap. Start spraying the tire and wheel. It should show... Valve stems and beads would be the first places I'd look.

check the valve core- very prone to leakage on these - that should have band type TPMS sensor, so it should have a regular stem. check stem for crack near base- Dill (mfger of stems) had a recall on valve stems of about that vintage.

One good method to check for a hard to find tire leak, is to submerge the wheel assy in water past the beads. Also high enough to cover the tire rim. If it is a new installation, it could have bead damage from the tire TECK!.
I'm guessing that the bead is leaking. You need to take the tire off, lay it flat, and soap the bead area. pump it up 10 lb. over the nomal inflation rate. Let it sit overnigh. As others suggested, look at the valve stem first, and see if it is leaking.
