The is a Legacy Holland grill on a auction that I know nothing about. It is stainless in the bbq area. I understand there is no adjusting of the heat. It is and expensive grill. Just was wondering if anyone of you BBQ experts know anything about this grill. Thanks in advance.

Why would you want a grill that you cannot adjust the heat? Why would they build a grill like that?

Can some one enlighten me?

I have never heard of or seen these grills.

Me neither; since the poster is a guest, you might need to post a picture so he can see what a REAL grill is like..........

Yup sometimes you need all the heat you can get.

Holland Grills are VERY good grills, the heat can be adjusted, but they are not designed to "cook" like a normal grill, they use indirect heat. They are more of a slow cooker, not a hot fire and sear the meat type of BBQ. But I will say this, once you learn to cook on one you can get some excellent meals off of them. They have stainless cast burners in them, and I beleive that they have a lifetime warrenty on the burner. Dad has one, has had it for at least 10yrs and has never made any repairs to it that I know of. I think their cheapest grills are around $750. If you could pick up a good used one for $200 to $300 I would think it was a good deal.

We have a "low end" Holland grill. $400 range back in 2004.

One heat setting, cast iron burner guaranteed to never rust out, indirect heat. We like it. It is indirect heat and always cook with the cover closed. Being indirect heat it seldom if ever flares up so you don't cremate what you are cooking. It is also very forgiving...leave your steak on too long it may dry it some but won't cremate it. So, you can close the lid, go off and leave it to cook. You don't have to constantly stand over it.

A different cooking experience but makes lots of good stuff to eat.

You can put water in it for a steamer, or wood chips for a smoker
