I found this old email while cleaning my emails. Thought we might find it a little uplifting and lets never forget. Just as Dec. 7 will never be forgotten.
I know it is off topic sort of but........ I like my 861 ford, 55 jd combine, my JD 494 4row planter, my JD FB drill, my grinder mixer,my land, my critters, mywife, and my life.

To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish , Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian , or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or nnalert. In fact, there are more nnalert i n America than in Afghanistan.The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness..

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.


When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!


As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan .
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America .


Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo , and Stalin , and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

Yup, that's buried somewhere in one of my old emails, too. Good to remember who we are.

I checked it too Dave, but wether someone out of country said it or not, it's still definately true.

I saw a similar story, supposedly a letter written, again, by an Australian dentist, and it was about Canadians. Almost the same, except some things have been changed to suit our nationality. It's nice, patriotic, and all, but still most likely just that, a story.

I don't care what anyone says, who that was written by, or whether snopes has an opinion about it, it is true, and it is time as Americans that we go back to realizing that no matter who is president, who is nnalert, who is nnalert, who is an atheist etc. We are all Americans and need to find a way to come back together or we will no longer be living in the greatest country in the world.

Depends on WHO"s side you want us to come together on. If it"s the socialist"s side, I"m never coming over.

Making derogatory posts without having the intestinal fortitude to do it as a registered member is what got some other folks the name of troll.....

To answer your ???'s though. The local newspaper has plenty of jobs advertised, wife and I are working, neighbors are eating and people are buying our animal offspring. Sure there are tuff times somewhere but there always has been. Some folks just have it worse than others. Hope everyone effected gets back on thier feet soon.

Yes isn't it wonderful that you can say such stuff, i can say such stuff!!
I'm sorry you feel that way. But have a great day anyway. I also see my spending or lack of is having an effect on our economy. Guess we lost more jobs, too. I am in shock!!!! Oh well, keep printing the cash, we will get there.

However why are we hated by the world?

I HATE shelling out money to many other nations in the world so that they hate us. Why is this?
It is almost like if I have a wealthy neighbor and I am poor and this neighbor helps me with farming, painting, yard work and then 5 years later I turn around and stab him in the back. (doesnt make sense does it?)

I say cut foreign aid to ZERO and make them pay for the grain/food/supplies they get from us. Let all the Africans pay for the food they recieve, Let the Europeans slash each other to bits, Tell the nnalert of the Middle East that the next terrorist attack on US soil will result in the total destruction of the nation that caused it. No more free food stamps, no more free money, no more free military hardware.....You now have to pay for all of it.

I am tired of my tax dollars going to fund hatred toward Americans.

Do you really want to know the answer? If you do, I suggest you live a few months of your life in one of these countries where you think we are hated so much. I'm not talking about going there as a tourist, or a serviceman, or as someone who lives in an expatriate compound. I'm talking about living and working among the native population. I did, and although I don't claim to understand the arab mind, it did open my eyes.

I suspect that you don't really want to know the answer. The question could be easily turned around: why do YOU hate these people so much, most of whom have never done a thing against you or any other american?

Well Arab nnalert hated me before I hated them.....Really.

The USA and the Western world made the Arabs very rich, with our money and their oil. However the backwards ideology of the nnalert is engrained in them. (basically it cannot be fixed as far as I know) As far as Isreal, that little strip of land belonged to the Isrealis before the Arabs claimed it as theirs.......Right.! (I am not pro-Jewish)

As for Europe, the USA liberated it twice last century. We freed Europe from the perils of Nazism. Yet many Europeans hate us.

I understand history very well and I have never been in the middle east (nor intend to go there) Remember that freedom of thought is limited in the middle east through oppressive governments and freedom of worship is limited cause of strict nnalert laws.
Whenever freedom is restricted Christians flee or are oppressed.
So tell me Mark what are the other reasons for why we are hated so much.
I read a few pages of a book titled "the confessions of an economic hitman" In this book the author gives his experience of how oil companies can go into nations like Ecuador and pillage, rape, loot the land of the oil and leave a cesspool mess everywhere and the water is undrinkable for the natives, and they hate the policies and the companies that have done this.
(you and I are not responsible for it) Yet Americans use the oil and are we guilty for allowing this to happen?

You asked the questions, and I'll answer as best as I can.

First, the average arab (or other foreigner) doesn't hate the US or americans. But they are definitely annoyed by the things we do. Much of this is due to deliberate misinformation by the arab governments and their state-controlled press, who use the west as a scapegoat to deflect attention away from their own problems. Of course we play right into their hands by routinely dropping bombs on civilians and performing other heavy-handed tactics that the arab press immediately jumps on. You can say this isn't right or fair, but that's what the typical arab sees: the US bullying their fellow nnalert.

As for our support of Israel, you have to realize that there's two versions of history: How Israel and the west see it, and how the arabs see it. Let's take for example the 1973 war between Egypt and Israel: Who won the war? You, and most Israelis and westerners will say that Israel won. But for Egyptians, it was a victory for Egypt. You can say that's ridiculous, but look who has the Sinai now? It ain't Israel, and you can bet they would not have given it up had the '73 war not occurred.

Two points of view. For every american that thinks the arabs hate the US for no good reason, there's an arab who can't understand why the US hates arabs.

As for the Sinai Penn. It is a shame that the Isrealis didnt grab that in 1973.
