any coin collectors? 1911 5 dollar gold coin

friend of mine found a 1911 liberty 5 dollar gold coin, has an eagle on one side and an indian chief on the other. any idea what something like this is worth?

No doubt it depends upon condition or grade of condition.

A 1910 similar to yours is currently $498 on Ebay with 3½ days of bidding left before the auction ends.

Just be careful that it's not one of those "100% gold-clad" reproductions that they're selling on TV these days. I'm sure the license that allows them to make the reproductions must require that there be some difference from the originals other than the weight, but I don't know what it is.
