I have a dual fuel B that is stripped down and currently only runs one fuel. I want to get a high octane fuel which is kind of hard around here. In discussion someone asked if I could run E85 which should have an octane of around 110... long story short. Any effects?

It will run on it. Will be a little harder to start but once it gets going and warmed up, you will never know what it is burning. There was an article in Green Mag. awhile back about it. I have run it in some of my old 2 cyl.'s myself and had no problems. It won't hurt your carb or any of that other stuff some guys will tell you. It will clean the varnish from you tank and gas line though so I would put a fuel filter on it for a while till it gets cleaned out.

What MSD says plus you MAY have to open the load and idle needles some. I'm not sure if the gas/distillate carb had bigger jets or smaler ones, but you will need a little tweaking with the needles to get peak performance.

I am running it in a JD620 and on it's second year now. I didn't even have to open up the mixture(must have been running rich on gas). I also have used it in a Farmall M. I did have to richen up that one.

Higher octane means you can run a higher compression and gain more efficiency. Rather the opposite of an all fuel engine with lower compression.
