OT: 2006 Chevy 2500 AC/Heat blower not working??

The fan blower just quit working, no low, high, or anything between. I"ve checked the two fuses I could find. Any other ideas? Thanks,

Casey

check the blower ristor, its next to the blower motor.the high blower relay is part of ristor. allso check the connector may be melted. have replaced alot of them. if you find them burnt you will have to replaced both. the dealer may have the connector in stock.

Have the same year/model. Mine went out too. Not only the motor but the resistor and the wires that run to it melted.
Dealer snagged me for almost $500 to fix it.
But it was -20° and I have no warm place to work on it.
Ouch!

I hate to hear that. The truck only has less than 52000 miles on it and hasn't been abused. Stupid GM crap. I should do it myself, but I don't know when I'll have the time....

casey, its about a half hour fix, the resistor is a bolt in and then there is an updates harness plug that you splice in. did mine on my 06 w/t.

Its as simple a system as it gets,,, find a wiring diagram and check it out. You can direct feed the blower motor with battery power and a ground to confirm it will run,,,, should pull a tad less than 20 amps feed direct battery power,,,, if more replace it,,, high amp draw will take the blower resistor out.

The resistor has 3 wires going to it,,, one is battery power,,, one is a ground,,, and the other is from the switch side. The one from the switch side can b checked with a volt meter,,, back probe that wire and work threw the blower settings,,, low will show 2/3V’s are so,,, the next set’n witll show 4/5v’s are so,,, next 6/8 volts are so till you see battery voltage on high,,, it you are around these numbers then every thang is good up stream of the resistor

I replace the resistor, blower motor and the pig tail at the resistor (have to warranty my work) with OEM parts. if the customer declins a blower motor replacment then theirs NO Warranty (his call not mine) The motor can spike (high amp draw on start up) and take out the resistor.

Its also possible something has the blower wheel jamed up,,, you release a tab and turn the motor counter clock wise (don't hold me to it) to remove the motor,,, worth a look.

Least thay don't require dash removal to replace these parts.

Mine went out at about 42K. Maybe it was $400 not $5 - Was pricey.
Had a 02 before this and it was totally bulletproof for 147K miles except a starter at 37K which they comped. Still had original front brakes when I traded it. Got like 80+k on the first set of tires.
Don't dishearten. They are very good pickups. Best riding, quietest, lowest cab and tailgate and for my purposes best pulling 3/4 I've ever owned.

I got 105K out of my factory set of tires. If the wheel bearing didnt get loose on the right side, that set pry would have been still on the truck until this fall--I'm at 115K now. Great tires...wish they still made them!
