I need help! Is there a way to mount 16 Ply 18.4-43 tires on a standard 16 inch, 18.4-34 rim? I think these were forestery tires.

No, you need rims. You can mess around with 18.4 size a little (bigger or smaller) but the 43 rim and 34 rim size will not fit.
:)

Sorry! for the typ-o there they are both 18.4-34 in size!! It is just that my original tire was a 6 ply tire while this new tire is a 16 ply tire...

Never done it, but I'd guess that you can.....with lots of 'slickum' and some good tools. I once mounted some 22 ply aircraft tires on some 14 inch rims for a rotary mower.

Longer bars and more leverage.
I've never mounted them, but that's a common forestry tire, or was at one time... and as far as I know, most were one piece wheels.
Sometimes it pays to let someone else fight with them.
