Sheppard plant where that tractor was made is still in business, still located in Hanover Pa.

They make steering gears for all kinds of applications.

I their main lobby, they have one of the diesel engines they designed and built , displayed to save a part of their history.

I don"t understand the comment in the tractor history "...a recession coupled with floor planning by IH and Ford..."
At first I thought it meant Sheppard couldn"t match IH and Ford in subsidizing the financing of dealers showroom etc inventory (called "flooring" in the trade)...
But was it that IH and Ford were making parts of the tractor, and when they made factory production line changes there was no capacity left for Sheppard units or components??
