So far only 7 (seven) Senators have agreed to read the health care bill before voting on it.


That has nothing to do with the president except at the last I heard he did not know all the details in the bill.

The notion of taking from the rich to fund health care is the long sought after "don't tax me, tax that guy behind the tree" attitude. From what I've heard, anyone over $250,000 in income will be nailed. Now, that's a good income, certaily something I don't come anywhere near and have no hopes of ever getting there.

But, take a doctor who's spent at least 7 years (AFTER COLLEGE) and probably gone close to $250,000 in debt to get the knowledge and experience to keep us well. I don't begrudge him/her a living substantially above the rest of us, especially with the life/death responsibility that comes with the job. I also don't think we should demonize or tax him/her more than the rest of us.

As for the Wall Street guys that rake in the $100 million dollar bonuses by selling "paper" that nobody can figure out (credit swaps on leveraged derivates of collaterlized packages of corporate bonds issued to cover unsecured commodity risks in the futures markets, :lol, they should be..... (fill in the blank). They produce nothing, cure nobody and yet somehow feel entitled to HUGE sums of money. Hey, that also applies to our Congressmen.

maybe they will take tax those with the most probelms smokers/obese. I just looked it up and I'm considered obese for my weight. I don't understand, I can work like a horse and I drink diet pepsi. My thighs don't rub together.

There was an article a couple of weeks ago on yahoo about how a doctor practicing for 30 years would end up earning less money than a GM worker that went fresh out of high school and worked 30 years. Doctor had lost earning potential while attending school and had studen loans to pay back. GM worker headed straight to work and never paid for anything and ended up financially ahead at the end. Really makes you wonder why anybody would want to be a doctor.

Using about a dozen agents in targeted cities, including Miami, the Medicare Fraud Strike Force, has recovered $371 million in false Medicare claims and charged 145 people across the country in just two months.

More than 200 agents worked on Wednesday's $16 million bust that included 12 search warrants at health care businesses and homes across the Houston area.

Federal authorities say those businesses were giving patients "arthritis kits," which were nothing more than expensive orthotics that included knee and shoulder braces. Patients told authorities they were unnecessary and many never used them. But health care clinic owners billed between $3,000 to $4,000 for each kit.

There ya go Red 1 ya made a good point. The government can't run anything. The med programs are being bilked everyday because thieves can because there is no one watching the numbers, like a private business. On top of that now we are going to throw away millions more going after the crooks.
How do you think your free healthcare is going to work out when it goes the way of medicare and such.

I have a relative that is a dentist, and he is pulling down 300K. I was an auto worker, and to make 100K, I had to work 7 days, usually 10 or 12 hours. Our dentist works a 28 hour week. That breaks down to a little better than 200 per hour.

These guys are taking billion (that the government knows about) on a "tightly" run medicare plan. Imagine how much the government will waste when they cover everyone's health insurance.
