This 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with the airconditioner drain problem is being looked at right now. We can not see or find where a drain is or was.

This is where we were looking. Can someone guide us from here?

Suggestion: Run AC a few munutes. Shut moror off, get under truck, watch for dripping water, trace to source. In the pics you show I don't think you are far enough down to find the tube.

Yuk! That's the older body than mine so I'm as up in the air as you are. Have ya tried hailin' Bouncer? He'd likely know or could find out quick.

Usually the drain hose is inside of the passenger compartment and runs into the passenger side kick panel. From there it exits to the ground. Hope this helps.

It is there.....you can't see it.

It should be the same as my 94 was. It is below the heater box on the front of the firewall and may just be a short stub of a pipe about 1/2" diameter.

Feel around with your hand where you can't see with your eyes and you will find it. When it works it will drain out on the track bars for the front end on a 4x4. Work up from them to find it.

Hope this helps. If you can find a mirror, it may help you find it by being able to "see" it. I found mine without a mirror...but I was getting ready to look for my mirror!

Most of the time they are near the small A/C line going into the cab. 1/2" id is pretty close. Might be an elbow on it. Just follow the small line that runs from the condenser in front of the radiator to the firewall. It's down there.

We've been dealing with this issue off and on for a couple of years now.

The drain hose is very hard to see since it only sticks out about 1/2 in. Agree with the other post, if its draining at all, run the A/C and try to find the drip. Too much stuff in the way too see from the top, easier to find from under the truck. You'll need a flashlight. Maybe 1/2 way up the fire wall on the passenger side and maybe a foot from the outside. Hard to explain and ours is a diesel.

I can take a pic this week end, but won't be able to post it until Monday night or Tuesday.

Trying to work a wire up in there was not very successful for us. Tried different stiffnesses of wire, but couldn't get any of them up in the drain very far and couldn't get it clear using a wire.

Finally got it open by taping about 18 in of 2 in o/d flexible plastic hose to the end of the shop vac. Turned the vac on and got the end of the flexible hose over the drain and pushed it against the fire wall to get some vacuum on the drain. The vacuum got whatever was blocking the drain out.
