A few days back I posted a question asking what old mower I just bought and Jim M WAS CORRECT, great catch.

It's a Mc Lean Huskie "Big Wheel" Model 1 made my Universal Manufacturing in Indinapolis, Indiana

This is NOT mine but heres a web page with pictures and discussion

That is really neat John !

When that was bought new the owner thought he had the "Cats Meow " in that machine.

I'm glad you are going to save a piece of history that few care about in lawn/garden care.

I was trying to find a pic I saw awhile back of a two wheeled model it was more front wheel drive, Basically a walk behind with sulky. and a steering wheel with chain steering someone saved on another forum. But I do believe it was a Husky as well.

If anyone else reads this maybe they can post a pic of another kind I saw somewhere in my travels years ago.

It was red if that helps, and was mowing the time I saw it.It looked like a tricycle,~~ motor drove front wheel, And between rear wheels in place of the axle was a reel mower like the kind found on a golf coarse. He was not having any trouble mowing 4" tall grass either.

I had to stop my Big truck and watch a couple laps.

When I googled Mclean Huskie I found a few more pictures, it seems that mower is pretty rare. I also own a Pennsylvania Panzer rider. The thing thats getting me interested in the McLean and my Pannzer instead of my 1938 Unstyled John Deere B is that I can haul and show and ride n parade the little Mclean and NOT have to haul a big tractor on a big trailer and all that weight n expense n work. With a small trailer I can easily haul (behind my motorhome) n unload the Mclean and my 10 x 10 pop up shelter with 2 lawn chairs and a cooler and be all set up and relaxed in like 10 minutes.

A few of those Panzers are still setting around here in Pa,~~ Make good pulling tractors, I know of two smaller ones and one I don't know if stock because of the single front wheel, that he pulls in modified stock class "bigger engine"

I know of one that looks like a peddle tractor with like tiller ag tires on it maybe 10" rims on back.

One of my Grandpas neighbors had something like that in Indianapolis. If I remember right it had a reel type mower on the front on the one he had.

cool lookin mower....I would'nt wear baggy trousers mowing with it though
