07 Duramax Trailer Brakes

My 07 Duramax trailer brake controller doesn't work. The fuse is good, but I don't get any power to the plug at back of truck. Signal lites, brake lites and tail lites all work. Any ideas what to look at next?

Did you "tighten" the controller inside the cab? Check your owner's manual on how to do that and also check your dash display.

There are some controllers (don't have a list) which require a 'load' before they're activated; i.e., a test light won't draw enough 'juice' to make it work.

Mine did the same thing on my 08. Someone told me to turn off the truck then plug in the trailer on the first time. Much to my surprise when I started it up I had brakes and the display worked on the dash also. Has worked fine since. Hope yours is fixed this easy.

don't know what you are trying to pull but some horse trailers are wired different than rv's. Is this truck new to you or did it just stop working? Is this a factory installed brake controller?

My brain won't engage right now but something tells me there is a dummy fuse in there that has to be replaced. Also on our 2500 HD the plug cover on the bumper gives you the wiring diagram.

I had to put a fuse in the box under the hood and connect wires that are taped to the steering column (or is it the ones between the fuse box and the fender?) to get the aux power to work.

Will try and dry out the brain and come back later with more info.
