2010 diesel???????

I have a 2010 diesel and its making a thumping noise in the air cleaner (Oil bath) What causes this???

Usually that is an indication of a bad intake valve or a bent pushrod. This allows the compression to escape into the intake on the power stroke.

if this only happens at a low rpm is it most likely a valve?

Stop operating the engine now or the repair bill will become more expensive.
Compression test, check valve spring pressure and injector spray pattern for a few starting points.
Most people take would be the repair bill for a 1010/2010 diesel plus the value of the tractor in scrap. Then purchase a better machine.
