O/T Briggs Stratton Gas tank needed

I am in need of a gas tank for my little 2hp B&S engine. I was pulling my lawn sprayer behind my Farmall H and turned to sharp and the tractor tire rubbed the tank and bent it bad. The carb is good but if I have to buy a carb with a tank I would to that.

I was wandering if any of you have a tank like this one that you would part with, if so please contact me.

Thanks,

Some times a little body and fender work will get it back in shape. Any lawn mower should have a used one. stan

John as long as it don't leak you should be able to straighten that one my guess is that it still will run that way but not as long because of the way it leans.

Take off carburetor, and make sure the plastic tube is still intact in bottom of carburetor.

It may be pulled out of the carb but a slight tap back in is all that should take to fix.
If OK then you should be able to place some sort of stock in a vise and bend bump with a hammer to flatten mounting area.

If a leaking crack is evident use Tiger Hair or epoxy to seal it.
Remount carb and you're good to go.

John,

Sorry you just missed mine. I just sold that same 2hp B&S engine on here through the ads. You could of hand a complete spare engine, with a good gas tank!

If the other suggestions of epoxy etc dont work. I have seen a few guys go with remote tanks. Looks like you have plenty of room.

One idea, we used to get 1 gallon fuel cells from summit racing to use on our nitrous systems. Mounted them under the hood. Can't remember the price though.

Good luck,
Rick

I have a gas tank similar to your tank. I will take a picture of it and post it later today to see if you can use it. It has a carburetor on it too. If you can use it, you can have it for just the shipping charges. Hal

Thanks for the compliment, yes I built it myself. The frame work comes off the running gear too so I can set it in the back of my pickup truck and do spot spraying in the fields.
I have an electric valve to turn the boom jet off and on. It plugs right into my trailer plug on the truck and I just have to turn my parking lites off or on to activate the boom. When I have the sprayer hooked to my garden tractor I use the same plug and have it hooked to my headlight switch there too. It works great for spraying the lawn.

Hal,
Thanks for the offer but your tank is a lot different and so is the carb. Yours came off of a vertical shaft engine and I need one to fit a horizontal shaft engine.
Thanks very much though.
