Farmall 450 Power Steering Problems (IH Add-On)

Hello,
I am wondering if Behlen 2041-18 is the correct torque generator for a '57 Farmall 450. If not, what is the correct Behlen number? My Case/IH Personal SupportPRO shows 365423R93 as the correct one. When I Google search it, it shows Behlen Power Steering Unit for an M. I believe the power steering on my 450 is an add-on, because the steering wheel isn't the power steering type. My grandpa had problems with the power steering when he put a loader on it, so he replaced the priority valve on it. It didn't fix the problem. Neither did taking off the loader. The fluid levels are fine. When I inherited the tractor, I also inherited the problems. Today I found that I have an extra Behlen 2041-18 pump and am wondering if it will work on my tractor. Does anyone have any other suggestions. My grandpa also out a wide front on. If I put the narrow front back on, would that help. I have used tractors with no power steering that steer easier. It almost seems like the power steering is working against me. What else besides the priority valve affects pressure flow? On another YTMag forum, it was stated "If you take a behlen powersteering unit and put it on a tractor that did not have power steering you won't be able to do it. There is a flow divider valve that is not present on your tractor. If it was there you don"t want to do it anyway." Does anyone agree? He goes on "What you do if your mechanically not all that good is take an eaton pump from a char lynn system and mount it up front to power your behlen unit." Should I try this? Any advice would be appreciated

2041-18 the number on the housing of units that IH used. If it came on the tractor the return line of unit goes to a tee in the reservoir drain hole. Pressure comes from the regulator and priority valve block right behind fuel tank, line comes out the bottom. Pressure check of system is needed to locate cause of problem. If the system pressure is good and priority valve dooes't work correct, most times if you pull one of the hand valves while turning steering wheel it gets easier to turn. Steering wheels were the same with or without power steering. Just the center caps were marked different on a 450.
If the wide or narrow front are both in good condition, according to IH specs the narrow front takes a little less tourqe to turn steering wheel. If other steering parts and tourqe unit are in good shape the steering unit will work if 1000 to 1100 psi is getting to unit. They recomend the pressure being a little higher than that idealy.
