i've found a 450 farmall that has been sitting fut appears to be in good shap, just from looking at it, but it is hung in gear. the gentleman told me it was running when he parked it 15-20 years ago. how do i get it out of gear to load it on the trailer and how do i move the rear wheels in to fit the trailer. thanks for any input

Well to load it just push the clutch pedal down and it should roll just fine unless it is stuck in 2 gears. As for the wheels you loosen the hold downs on the axle and slide them in

Remove the top of the tranny where the shift lever is then move the shifter forks to the center this will release the lockup and put the tranny in neutral.

Had a problem like that on an R minneapolis stuck out of high gear. We only used 1st and reverse to put it in and out of the shed. Tractor did too much sitting in the shed and the shift rails were rusted and stuck. You will probably have to do just like walt said and take the tranny cover off to clean and lube it all up.
