620 power steering

I have a 620 that the power steering used to bind while you turned to the right only. so i took the worm gear housing and valve assembly off and cleaned it out. I found some chunks of metal that broke off of the worm gear. Worm gear will still work it broke off in a non vital area. but now i put it back together and the shaft that turns the worm gear just slips and wont turn the wheels. any input would be great.

is the bottom bearing for the worm gear in place.

all bearings in place, spins when not on pedistal everything spins easily when not bolted up, valve is free, and everything moves freely in the pedistal and the pump pumps

The steering on my 620 locks up once in a while. Not often enough to figure if in the same direction though. I just turn it the other way and back again. After a big crack sounding up the shaft it always frees up.
