case 970 agriking drive problem help

hi i left a message on here a little while ago about this tractor we had nothin at all we took the rear of the tractor apart and found jellied oil and a completely block strainer we cleared all this replaced the oil and we got everything steering brakes pto hyd arms reverse but we have no drive forwards we cant get it into gear to get reverse we shift the lever closest to your leg right back then the middle lever into gear i presume and off we go then i f i slide the inside lever forward one notch and let the inching pedal out the engine stalls like something is binding everytime we select a forward position the engine just stops dead and if you start the tractor with the inner lever anywhere but in reverse without inching pedal down the hydraulics build nand engine stops dead
can any one help also does any one own one of tghse and got any pics of controls and interior as i would like to restore many thanks gareth

I would post your question on the Case forum instead of tractor talk some of those guys may not come over here. Good luck!

your c1,c2,c3 shift spools are sticking on powershift valve on right side of trans. Take spools out and clean.dont lose springs between spool and plugs.

hi when you said to clean spools on the block on the side then you nsaid on top of the trans so do i take the valve block on top apart and clean that many thanks gareth

reason I first said on side is,90 ser.is on side but 70 ser.is on top.90 ser. is easier to work on. For 970 take foot plate out, disconect lines, lingages, take 10 bolts out.Lift valve out and then take 4 plugs out, remove springs and pull out spools.put them back in same holes.spools have threaded hole in end to screw a screw in to pull them out.I use starting fluid to clean spools, bores.work on them till they slide in and out freely.
