I was just given a real old Yazoo with a stuck wisconsin TJD engine. I have had some experience with other make stuck engines, but aluminum alloy pistons are different thing altogether. What do you guys use?

What HP is the Wisconsin TJD engine?

What are your thoughts on the old YAZOO mower? It has some kind of mechanical transmission. it is not hydrostatic. Anyone know of a source for parts for the mower?

Well as with any engine filling the cylinder with something like ATF works well. As for parts they can be a little harder to come by. I have an old Yazoo mower here that has the mower deck up front and you sit right over the top of the rear wheel which is also the wheel you steer it with. It is fun to run but takes some time to get use to because of how fast it will turn

I have always wanted to try liquid nitrogen to shrink the stuck piston and then pour in some Marvel Mystery Oil.

X22, my thoughts on cooling the piston to gain some advantage, are that you would also cool the cylinder. Though the piston should shrink a little, the piston, because it is larger might contract more than the aluminum piston and might tighten rather than loosen the piston.

my dad sold yazoo's in the 70's the transmission is called a was called a transaxle spent many hours doing custom mowing for him yazoo was the first front mount mower
