PTO seal on 1967 Ford 2000

I have a leak at the PTO on the 3cyl. 2000 Ford.
I can't see it leaking, but when I return to the
barn a day after cutting, there is a small puddle
on the floor under the PTO. Is this an easy repair. What should I be concerned about when replacing the seal? Thanx

It is a very simple repair.
Drain the oil out of the rear end or park the tractor nose down in a steep ditch. Unscrew 4 bolts on the flange that holds the pto shaft in. Pull the shaft out and replace the seal and or bearing.
Reinstall.
If you don't know how to replace the seal yourself you could bring the pto shaft, flange and everything you took out with the 4 bolts and take it to any machine shop, tractor dealer, backyard mechanic, etc and he can do it for you. Beats hauling the whole tractor in.
If you have a 6 or 8 speed tranny,
make SURE you have the pto lever ENGAGED before you pull the shaft.
It really is a simple repair.
That is a very good model tractor.
