hey folks,
anyone have a source for seat pads? I got a cheap one a few years ago but the dog got bored and messed it up a little. Can't find where I got it now.

Thanks, Dave

(quoted from post at 05:40:35 07/10/09) What kind of seat pad?

It was just a cushion about the shape of the pan seat that stretched/tied in place. Something like that available here, but they are real proud of them and they look kinda stupid.

My dad used to get them for our 8n at NAPA. I found some on external_link for $31. There are several tractor suppliers on the web that has them.

You might look at your local dept. store for kitchen chair cushions. Dollar General type stores have them, too. Don't cost much and most have some sort of tie on them to secure them to the chair.

How dare you suggest such a thing..........?? Reminds me of Jerry Clower telling about the old guy selling horse blankets....

I have a piece of carpet on it now, just was thinking of another nifty pad. Not for 30 bucks though. Them dining room chair pads are looking pretty good.

A complete, new seat pan with the cushion carries a price of right at $100. $30 for a snap on replacement cushion is plenty reasonable.

Am I missing something? The one I found that time fit like a cheap steering wheel cover. The seat pans on the German Farmalls shouldn't be any different than the American ones should they? If I couldfind a nice red cover (with or without Farmall or mcCormick on it) that fit good, I'd put out a little money on it.

I've got a 1940 H with a red and white snap fit cover that fits so good you have to look close to see that it IS a cover and not the original upholstery. I just recently installed a brand new silver snap fit cover on another H and it fits the same way.

Dave, don't know how much your looking to spend but this site has some. There is blue and white ones under ford parts, sure they have some under IH too. Less than $40. Look like the one I have for my old ford, been pretty happy with it. Came with tractor 4 years ago, was used then, my big butt ain't wore it out yet.

Good luck.
