OT: Please help identify this weed

this weed is taking over my hayfields, when i took over the farm I sprayed just about everything with 2,4-d as it had been decades since anybody had done it. Killed everything that could be killed and fertilized and limed the grass, now this weed is thriving! It just laughs at 2,4-D and when sprayed with dicamba and 2,4-D it will die for that season but comes back double next year.

It is really starting to be a big problem and I need to get scientific with my approachto it, just spending some money on chemical isn't doing it, first step is to identify what it is, any help is greatly appreciated

Don't know what it is,but suggest you contact your county extension service office. If they can't give you an answer, they will send samples to the University of Ky for identification and herbicides that will control it.
I also live in Ky and think I have seen this weed on my farm but it has not become a pest yet.

where in ky are you all? i have seen it but in the shady ares, woodlines etc... it aint milky when the stem is broke is it?

Not too milky and it often grows near "tall ironweed" but is not exactly the same plant. It is resistant to 2,4-d like ironweed though and I think it must be in the same family

I'm in spencer county, just southeast of Louisville and have an email off to the county agent. If he asks I can get him as much of a sample as he wants

i have spent many of nights at taylorsville lake when we lived in bullitt co, used to fish it every chance i got, we also used o skip school and fish plum creek over there in waterford.

Beggarweed. May or may not be Florida Beggarweed (see link below but it is a Beggarweed none the less.

The source of those flat, triangle shaped seeds,(three or more connected together in a row) about 3/16 inch or less in size, that stick to your clothing or dogs in autumn when you walk through an area where they are growing.

Plants look like soybeans , don't they ? Cows love the leaves in hay.
