1996 Buick Lesabre Door Locks - 3 YR. OLD LOCKED KEYS IN CAR

My 3 yr. old locked the only set of keys in the car tonight. I got the hood open by taking the grill out and unhooking the battery and waiting awhile but no luck getting it unlocked. Any suggestions? I really don"t want to call a locksmith. Thanks in advance, Rob

Hook the battey back up. Go get a long thin rod or heavy wire. Fish it down between the door and body , Bend and twist it until you can push the door unlock button. Good Fishing!

When my daughter started driving ( and locking keys in car I carried spare key AND set of window or door shims) drive several door shims between door and roof until gap wide enough to use 1/4 inch rod to push door unlock, HTH, Mark

In my neck of the woods the local law enforcement will come out and unlock your car for you. I would suggest calling them and asking if they can do this for you. I know, I do it almost every day for someone.

Don't know if this will work for you but this is how we opened another car twice. I also saw a locksmith do the same thing to a car. On the drivers door facing it, top right hand corner. Get your fingers in the door crack and pry out until you get an opening big enough to put a stiff rod threw. The rod may have to be bent a little to hit the door unlock button. This car was at work so we had access to round material, we used 3/16. The lady whose car it was could not see any damage to her car. Good luck

I do towing and recovery work and have a tool called the "Big Easy".Consists of a poly wedge to pull the upper corner of the door away slightly, then a long rod with an elbow is inserted into the opening to either pull the manual lock or hit the power lock button.

All towing/roadside companies have them.Going rate around here is $40 for lock-out service. You don't need me to tell you to get another set made(LOL).

If your gm dealer has your serial no. they can make you a key .Atleast they did for my buick cost $ 3.50

get an extra key made to unlock it .drill hole large enough for license plate bolt to pass through.

Mount behind license plate with a quarter as a screw driver.

Don't every one do this now cause I know where an extra key is,---LOL

Well the old standard joke is about getting a lock out service to open the car when all along the passenger door was unlocked.

Can we assume that you did indeed check it? lol

I have heard of a surefire technique from a guy on a 4x4 board I visit. The guy was fishing with a coat hanger wire in the door to get it open when a cop pulled up. Cop told him to stop unless he could show license and registration. Fellow says my wallet in laying on the seat there and the registration is in the glove box. Cop says stop right now and was calling a tow truck to get the truck impounded.

Fellow said its my truck, I'll get it open in a second. Cop says no its getting towed. Fellow says Oh I just forgot I keep a spare key in the back bumper. Before the cop could say anything, he walked to the back pulled his REESE hitch out and threw it through the back window and climbs in the window. The cop was kinda dumbfounded and gave him a hassle but he showed him the registration and license.

Fellow admitted the new back window cost twice as much as the tow truck would have but felt good about proving his point.

Have everyone around you check their keys. There are only so many key combinations, and there is a slight chance that you might find a duplicate. I had a car where the ignition key for my car fit the door for a company car. (Both Chevrolet)

Now that you have unhooked the battery the electricx locks wont work.If a locksmith wedges the door he cant trip the lock switch. There are times when you need someone who knows what they are doing. Its time now.
