Dodge 2500 Steering Box - Good Rebuilders?

Awhile back, someone mentioned a place that rebuilds Dodge steering boxes that supposidly has a fix for the loose output shaft. I seem to recall they were in Ohio, but I"m not certain. Does anyone know the name of this place or of good place to have a box rebuilt that at least "attempts" to fix the design flaw in the box?

Is the steering box a Delphi - Saginaw Gear - Saginaw Steering - gear box?

If you buy a rebuild from an auto parts store, it should be rebuilt by the Remanufacturing site in Alabama. And it should have any engineering updates for reliability.

That might be the best choice, unless you're offroading her in radical ways.

Do a search under yahoo. There was a place making aftermarket high performance units. They were very pricey but probably effective. By the time you have the ball joints, tie rods front rotors/hubs/wheel bearings and the stabilizer replaced if wore it will be expensive. I'm assuming it's a 94-02 model truck? There is also a piece called "luke's link" which is an adjustable heim joint that you weld onto your existing stabilizer bar up front which i have heard good results on, I believe its about 60 bucks. There should be a jam nut and threaded rod on your steering box to tighten up if its not already been done.

thanks jon, i always wondered if there was a cure for the wandering on the 2wd's im going to order this,i got a '94 2500 diesel, almost mint conditon with 220,000 but on the hiway its like hearding sheep somewhat annoying, i had the problem on several '70's and '80's fords and a wwll jeep i had, and a heavy duty steering stabilizer shock kit solved the problem, but no place to hang it on a 2wd
