can I take the long axle from a junk A and make it a B with out alot of thouble thanks please help I need a B and totale restored by 8/9/09 I already have three As I cant find a B no were and I,m out of time

At the closest, you could make a sort-of BN. The right side of an A is the same width as a BN, so adding a longer differential shaft and housing from an A will give you the width of a BN. The Bs were 4" longer on each side.

I say sort-of BN becasue the bosses on the underside of the A diff shaft housing do not reverese, which means BN implements can't be directly mounted without some serious modification.

If it's not bein' too nosy, what's driving the need for a B?

I didn't even mention the front end, which is an entirely different animal. NFE vs. wide. You'll need to start shopping yesterday to get one of those in hand in time.

I need a B for double seats my little buddy who will be 2 on 8/9/09/ loves red (i,m green) were not tying to be perfect we just want the two seater for him and papow to ride togater so I have thee As left from restoring my family A and just realized the axle houseing and axle mite fit and wanted some one who mite know to tell me for shure i,m going to run the factor front and just adjust the withe to match

The housing from an A will work on the left side for you but you need a differental shaft for the left side. You can take a left shaft for a B and cut 4in out of the center. Then you will have a tractor the same width as the BN minus the bossed for rear tooling which you dont need anyway. Then a seat assy from an A will work on the left side. But you will need a diff shaft either from a BN or cut 4in out of the center with a diff shaft from a B. You need the left shaft for the brake drum. You cant use the right side diff shaft from an A on the left unless you dont need a brake assy. I can make you a shaft from a B or send you one and you can make it shorter.

I thought if I used the right axle and housing of an A on theleft with the left A hub assembaly it would work and have brakes as long as I lithined the brake shaft

It will work to move the tractor but the left side diff shaft has the boss for the brake drum next to the tranny where if you use the shaft ftom the A the brake drum boss will be out next to the final drive. The diff shafts for the A and B needs to be a right and a left but the housings are either right or left. There is also a right and left final drive housing to make the brakes work. Like i said a left shaft from a B will work with the diff housing from an A but it needs to be shortened 4in. Send an e-mail and i can give my cell# and i can answer questions if you want.
