well they lied to me again, said it was going to be cloudy in the morning and afternoon clearing,so I raked my hay and was going to bale it later today it was partly sunny this morning and as of right now it is pouring down rain, more washed hay!!!!!

99.99999999999% of the 'weatherpersons' couldn't tell you what the wheather is, if they were outside standing in it.

They wave their hands around like a majician, or dancing from place to place like a dog passing peach seeds.

Overpaid airheaded, idiots, always promising what 'we' will bring you for tomorrow's weather, upset because it might rain on the weekend and ruin the citidots 'outdoor activities', talking about our 'friends in the outlying areas', come out here sockcocker, and I will show you what a friend I am.

Like anyother idiotic 'reporter',or 'journalist', at your 'newspaper' or radio or television station, start them off at several hundred thousand a year, or more, if they have a pretty face, and are on air 'talent', when they couldn't keep a job picking up trash because they are so stupid.
The ONLY ones on TV that are stupider than the weatherperson, is the sportscaster, but that is a tale for another time.

lets make that 125% of them Weather "forecasters" that cant figure it out ahead of time,no matter how fancy equipment they have/use.

30% chance of rain today and tommorow can mean anything from zilch to drowning,i dont know why i still listen to them morons.
May as well look outside and make up one's own prediction.

I got 20 bale of alfalfa rolled up this AM before it started to rain , about 30 more out there getting washed . 2nd cutting , real good stuff .

They been a swinging and missing all the time here in wisconsin. Was not to see anything till late tonight. SO, I had close to 28 acres down of finally geting it done first crop. Well got 2000 small squares down with some still on the wagons due to break downs yesterday. About 10 acres left to roll today. Yeap you geussed it. Just enough to wet things down. Hoping for a day or 2 of sun on the wagons and they still can go in. Rerake some pieces and rake up the rest and should be good to go.
Should be doing second by now, but with listening to them and it raining about every 3 to 4 days its been tough.

Bob, For the last month and a half through late Oct. Out guys are spot on!... 100 + degree weather and a slim to none chance of rain. Unless a hurricane comes into the Gulf and put the bulls eye on Corpus Christi, Tx. Then we might get 1/4 in of rain.
As the Story goes we havn't had real rain since Noahs Flood.... and then we only got about 1/2 in of rain! LOL!
It is so dry here the other day I saw 2 trees chasing a Dog, OBTW the trees were Mesquites they do very well in dry weather!
We are now 24 to 26 months of drought waaay over 25inchs of rain behind, Drought is Now CRITICAL! Records now show that Austin has had it 8th hottest June ever, Del Rio 5th hottest, San Antonio 3rd hottest June ever!
If Ya'll want to read about our drought go to KVET.com, go to Jocks, Select.. Troy Kimmel, One of Austins Most respected weather men. There is the ugly truth.

Forecast said sunny and hot the next three days this morning so I went and knocked down 35 acres of oats for hay. Came in this evening and now its cloudy, humid and showers all week! Sure is hard to get oats dry to. Oh well we are getting to the point we really need rain again, discbine kicks up a cloud of dust.

After many years as a flight instructor and instrument pilot I have spent a lot of time taking meterology classes. I agree with most that forcasting the weather even a few days in advance is a problem. But I think a phrase given to me by one of the more noted weather instructors around says weather forcasting the best: Fill a very large trough with water and shake it...then predict EXACTLY where the waves will go!
It is really amazing that any rain actually falls to earth, seeing as how all the phenomina that creats the conditions to make it rain have to be in perfect alignment. Lifting action, dust particles, and the proper amount of mositure supplied.
Now, as a hay grower myself, I can really sympathise with all of you, and especially here where I live near the political crime capitol of the USA....Chicago, where the wx forcasters can get away with two minutes of REAL weather, a "bring your umbrella" forcast and five minutes of crummy pictures of birds and flowers.
Unfortunatly, even when I try to forcast myself, my predictions are only right about 30% of the time.
The vast majority of weather is made above the 20,000 foot level by the jet stream, and the precipitation generally followes wherever there is a bend in them.
If You are sitting in a moisture laden mass of air and the temps are rising, giving to thermal convection, there is always a possibility of T-storms "popping up".
