Gittin' Tired of Hauling Hay

Should have been doing this all along, I guess.

Gettin' a bit weary of making trips back and forth to the field. So, I decided to double stack the sled and see if the old M could still handle it.

8 ton and no worries (after ya get used to that top bale hangin' up over yer head like that). :>)

A true farmer. Complain because of rain, the swather breaking down and now too much hay to haul :)

Sure is a nice way to haul them and unload them.
Those cattle will enjoy it when the snow starts to fly. Hal

Say, Allan, what kind of fancy front end set-up is that? I like it. Good job with & thanks for the pictures, also. A couple of them looked like they came out of an IH brochure (I can overlook the little Hesston detail ;). - Mike

Where's the guy that said we had to pack them with horseshoes to get bales weighing over 800 lbs. Hiding somewhere in WI.. Seeing is beleiving.
What was your per acre yield for this cut Allen?

My dad called this kind of complainin' the "crude oil blues"- You're drilling a water well, and you hit that nasty, dirty old crude oil instead. . .

He applied it to me when I was complaining about my hay crop being so heavy that I had too many bales to haul in.

You might have to get the better half to rub some A5-35 on your left arm from spinning that steering wheel and some on the right one from pulling the hydraulic control valve handle. Bet your glad that their not 50-60 lb small square bales to handle. Looks good. Has anyone really ever even seen Allan, lots of nice pictures of equipment, lots of work getting done but not a Allan to be seen. Maybe a shadow or two in a picture, but is there is a real Allan??? So whats next after the hay, some more summer fallow or is the grain near ready and we can see you drive two of those Gleaners at the same time.Keep up the good work and great pictures.

Guess there is something good to be said about live'n on the flat lands. If I was to try a stunt like the buzzards would be the first ones to find me in a creek at the bottom of a hill.

Good luck with the rest of your hay Allan!

Dave

Dude, what is up with that 1970's disco seat on that M. My Ms would be embarassed to have it , and I would not be seen with it.

If you're getting tired hauling hay, then you've been blessed with lots of hay. That's a good thing. Compared to last year's drought and aweful haymaking and sky high bale prices, folks were baling anything that would roll up. What's that old song, 'Count your blessings name them one by one', well count your hay bales one by one and be thankful.

He bought it new and put it on there for function. It's much more safe (no falling backwards) and that much more comfortable.

If you don"t like what you see when you look back then quit looking back. Yeah, even with a cab that bale hanging over your head takes some getting used to. Had one fall off once. It rode on the tongue about four miles to the house bent the pto shaft a bit though.

Darned old tractor just handles the sled just fine. You can sure hear the governor kicking in when going uphill in 5th tho. :>)

Snapped a floor chain last night. Getting that long dude out from underneath the stack and rethreading it in the rail was some kinda fun. :<(

Used the pickup in 4L to drag the chain out from under the hay and then a windmill sucker rod and 30' of wire to rethread the darned thing back inside the channel.

Yep,

It really looks dorky.

However, I’ve only noticed one coyote snickering and the rattlesnakes just don’t seem to care at all. :>)

Thats a good lookin Ol M. Much better than my ex wives. Those trailers are one of the better inventions ever. Way better than a bale hook.

If you load one less bale on the top row, it will tie the load together. Looks like the land is so level it is not needed though.

Oh heck no,

That's a Lehmann stack mover built up in South Dakota. One parked in every yard in this country.

I'd go buy one of those new "retreaver" types, but the only thing stopping me is that $14K price tag.

I can buy a lot of connector links fer that. :>)

Just figured I'd mention it, that M looks great, I like how you set it up, the seat... well I'll bet it's comfortable, and that is all that counts, I have to stack the round bales in the back of the tandem grain truck, sure helps when that baler is making em right, last ones I did they were squashing down a bit or a little lop sided, looks like that hard work you did on that baler sure paid off. That is a load, that trailer is ideal when your place is connected to the crop land, never seen any out this way, yet, most have to go over a state or secondary road.

Looks like a well designed piece of equipment.

Never seen one before that moves hay until now.

Thanks for the information.

I pushed a button one time , It said
"Enter at your own risk" OOOOHHH my GOD !!!!!!
