MAssey 35 no compression

I have a 1963 massey 35 gas, (4 cylinder engine). While bushogging today it started missing. Installed new points, no luck, did compression check, #3 cylinder has no compression. I think the piston is moving up and down. Any thoughts on the root cause, I was thinking I would have to pull the head to check for burnt valve or stuck valve. Only thing is the tail pipe is not sucking back like I have seen with a burnt valve in a car. Let me know your thoughts. I thought about putting some mavel mystery oil in to try that or some Sea Foam.

Borrow or buy a cylinder leakdown tester and you will quickly know where the compression leak is.

look closely for an exhaust manifold crack or gasket leak near the cyl. with no compression. I've seen a leak near an exhaust port cause a valve to be burnt before.

Pull the valve cover and inspect the valve springs and rocker gear.
You dont want to run the engine if you have a broken valve spring. If you drop a valve in it you may do a lot of damage.
