Any disadvantage to a Deere 710 B over a smaller hoe? Neighbor has an 87 with 6900 hours, 2wd,canopy, 36" bucket. No extendahoe.Asking $15,000. Nice looking hoe. Good rubber. Is the hoe stronger that say a 310 ? Am thinking fence row trees. It lifted my old 7720 out of the septic tank last fall so I know it has a strong loader bucket. lol. Buy or pass it by ?

As with anything larger..the price to repair increases also. As far as the price?? Its only worth what someone is willing to pay ...larger backhoes seem to go for less money than smaller ones sometime because many people can't transport them easily or they are too big to hide behind the garage..or even in it. They didn't seem too problematic as far as reliability. One thing I remember as being costly is if the torsional damper (thats what it has instead of a "clutch")breaks. It is very costly to repair/replace and can damage the input shaft to the powershift transmission. Lots of those original parts are no longer used and an updated assembly is used which is pricey.
