I read all the posts about life insurance.

Yes it was a term life policy that was quoted.

No I dont buy whole life policies, not worth the monthly payment. (I dont have a lot of faith in insurance companies anyway.) The insurance companies get off to a bad start with the car insurance with a kid when he buys his first beater car and basic coverage is $1200/year.
I think of all the premiums that the companies take in for home owners insurance and the amount that they payout---quite a disparity. I have paid premiums for home insurance for 16 years and never made a claim.-----$10,000 for them.

I guess $263/year is a good price, for life insurance (especially for a diabetic) I will likely get the policy set up before the end of the year after the wife gets her insulin level stable.---That Glucose meter is reading it all over the place, 240 at night, 150 in the day, sometimes it is 170. (not good)

Yes I want the life insurance on her due to fact that she works full time as an accountant and losing her income would suck big time.

Ok Im not a doctor but I read somewhere about taking cinnamon pills if you are diabetic and it seems to work on me.Mine was jumping around and after about 3 days of cinnamon pills it straightened up.It might be high but it doesnt just jump up from 90 to 200.I just take one in the morning now and it seems to stay at a predictable level.Exercise is good too.I walk a mile or 2 in the winter and it helps a lot.Sometimes I dont feel like walking and my blood sugar will go up after a couple of days. When a person with diabetes blood sugar jumps around especially gets low is dangerous.I started going into shock before I knew I even had it.Ended up in the hospital with blood sugar over 500 almost 600.The doctor said it was the highest blood sugar he ever saw of somebody still walking around.I know it went down some before they checked it because I thought I was going to die when I was going into shock and couldnt walk over about 4 steps without stopping.

I'm a diabetic, type 2, and I can give you a little info about about cinnamon. Apparently it allows the body to make better use of the insulin it produces or receives by injection.I don't buy pills, I just take a half a teaspoon out of a bottle I buy at the grocery store.

Nother diabetic here. Besides cinnamon, red hot sauce and hot peppers are supposed to help. Tabasco in coffee is what I like. Dave
