It's bad when you're driving across country, navigating by dead reckoning to a small town......and you're a mile from the town and still haven't found it.

Yep, Surprise, Nebraska, population 44. But, the tavern has great chow, as do most small town taverns.

I always get a strange look from folks when I till them I live just outside the east suburbs of Tilden KY.

Or Tennant Iowa. When I delivered for FedEx Home Delivery, that one was on my route. I did not realize that it has no post office anymore, so now it has a Harlan address. Kinda hard to find an address, when someone not familar with the area is looking in another town. Greg

Were you there for the "Zip to Zap", Scotty?

"The Zip to Zap would go down in history as the only official riot in the history of North Dakota that was put down by National Guard."

I love small towns also. The one i live 3 miles from has a population of 200, with a post office , restaurant, bank , and a elevator.

Just a few of many Suit, NC Hothouse NC, Nop postoffices but mail will be delivered under these name of almost nonexistant towns. The phone co recognizes them also. Henry

There are several little towns around like that. Worms, NE was one that came to mind. There are quite a few more the further west you come.

Remember the old television show Petticoat Junction?

When in California on vacation in 1996 I stopped off at Pixley and mailed a number of postcards.

I was a postal worker at the time so asked the clerk if they had any Pixley logo items that I might have, such as are often given to business customers. Received a pen and a letter opener for the asking. Of course I'd rather have gotten to see Billy Jo, Bobby Jo, and Betty Jo.

How come I've aged and those girls haven't?

Small towns, you've gotta love 'em.
