I'm a lucky dog

Have been building a new pasture lately,about 1 mile of new fence, five wires high tensile 4 barb. Quite a project by yourself as I call myself the president of the FFA, Father Farms Alone! Well as of last night I have new respect for the wife. She marched out,grabbed the tool belt and a bucket of clips and proceded to install almost all of the clips for 1/2 mile of fence. I am a lucky dog!!!

You know the "psychologists" talk a lot about "quality time" in a relationship. Some of our best quality time has been working together.

I specifically remember one time when we were mowing the Hunt place. James was going one way and I was going another, yet is was all coordinated, like a dance. I loved it and will never forget it.

There is great satisfaction in building things together.

So pleased for you.

Good gals like that are hard to find. Hang on to her. Love & pamper her. I have had one for fifty-nine years.

I know what you mean. I sorta felt guilty baling hay with me on the tractor and my dad and wife on the wagon. Dad won't drive the tractor baling and my wife said she would rather ride the wagon.

Sounds to me like she is a lucky girl, to have a hubby that appreciates the help. Now, if you know whats good for you, you'll do some dishes or laundry to show her it works both ways. Good Luck!!

my better half can out clip me most days. We really enjoy working together. Too bad I dont cook or do windows, but I do serve a pretty mean Mc Donalds.

My 79 year old grandmother still gets out and takes care of a large garden and helps some in tobacco. She rides the setter and will get out and spike some. She still likes take'n off the wagon but she quit hand'n up about 6 years ago. She looks forward to stip'n in the winter, she will set there on her stool and pull as much leaf as alot of men would, just has a hard time get'n flakes in the baler. When me and the wife started date'n she said she could not stay in the house while a 75 year old woman worked 'baccer. She really enjoys it and is get'n to be a good hand with the cows. The last few times we have worked cows she has worked the gate on one end of the sort'n ally and kept me 5 or 6 in there to send through the shoot to my brother work'n the head gate. My first wife said I loved the cows more than her, this one I think married me for the cows. Thats fine cause I plan on keeping both. She loves walk'n and work'n on fences, spend'n time with the cows, and just be'n out and about on the farm. She is a wonderfull cook and great all around woman. Any man who finds a wife that enjoys the ups and downs that come with try'n to hold a farm together is very very blessed.

Yeah I actually do a lot of cooking and even make the bed everyday, so if my 5'4" 135 pound woman looks like a man, then I am a 6'2" 265 woman. Or perhaps I am gay, I had long hair in school :>) And we all know long hair means you're gay. Notice tongue in cheek?

You gotta love that old Charlie Daniels song "long haired country boy". Was one of my favorites grow'n up and while I lost the long hair years ago still turn that some up when it comes on.

Me to, that one and Skynards Red White And Blue , International Harvester by some country artist, and Brad Paisleys's I'm still a guy, they all remind me of who we are.

One thing my wife and I did as a team was when I farmed before no-till, during planting she'd disc ahead with one tractor while I followed with another with the planter.

We got done in a hurry.

my wife says i like the cows more than her not true.but i do like them a lot i would not like to give them up.
she likes watching the calves tear around and isn"t happy when we sell some.
i say that"s way we have them and we can"t keep them all.
she gets very unset when when we lose one of them.
