OT Lesbadeza

I have a hay field that has some lesbadeza in it. With all the rain this year it is begining to take over. What can I use to get rid of it. I have a mix of fescue and orchard in the field. I have tried 24dbut it does not help. Any ideas?

i like lepedeza-- i have 3 acres of it and its what i bale up and use whenever i have something that is sick or when im weaning calves and lambs-- it has the ability to pullup calicium and calms upset stomachs-- if u have to get rid of it-- its a broad leaf and fescue and orchard grass are narrowleaf grasses-- any broadleaf weed killer should do it.

Well some in moderation. I sell most of my hay to horse people and keep some for my alpacas. The field is now full of it and I just want to thin it out some.

I could see thinning out the fesque but not that clover. I have horses and goats and they love the les. and so do people that buy my hay. If you cut it before it goes to seed that will thin it out a lot

Looks like you should just keep it.

☆ les·pe·deza (les′pə dē′zə)

noun
any of a genus (Lespedeza) of annual or perennial plants of the pea family, cultivated for forage, hay, soil improvement, etc.

Is it sericea or korean? Korean is good for hay and wildlife, sericea isn't good for much of anything and will take over a field. A broadleaf herbicide such as 2,4-D will kill it when it is young.

Oh sorry I mispelled a word. I will try to do better next time. Hope you dont make any mistakes. Everyone else knew hat I was talking about....

Well fromwhat I found on the net it looks like sericea. I have some weedmaster that I bought from southern states and I am going to give that a try.
