A friend I have struggled all my life to emulate has passed away, click on the link below, and see if you know him or his family. I do know that his half brothers post almost daily on this site, so I thought this obituary was pertinent to several arguments that they are involved in here. Out of respect to the dear departed, I won't mention the handles that the half brothers post under.

How appropriate and "sensible" writing. I believe that's the best piece I've read in a long time. I think of Fawteen and Les and others on Tractor Tales when I read this.
 
The death of common sense is just one of the many ways the well thought out plan of modern day lieberalism is destroying our country.
 
Sad but true,

I try not to think too much about how far off the key we are getting in this country, until I read or hear the news. What began this country and has seen it through these many years was people using their heads and employing common sense while doing it. I'm afraid it is a dying art, or already dead, as this essay describes. Very sad. A former boss of mine who was a very straight forward common sense type of guy once told me many years ago "the only things you can worry about are the things you can control. You just have to let the rest go." It is the only way I stay sane these days.
