Guess today is my day fer flat tires.

Oh well, only 23 miles to the tire shop and half a day shot in the head. :>(

Look at the bright side. At least you can get them both fixed in one trip. My luck, I"d get back fromthe shop with one, then the other go bad a day later, forcing a second trip.

Nancy and I went to the Little Giant Discount Tire store early Saturday morning.

The young man that helped us said "Ya'll are two of our regular Saturday morning customers."

I replied "It's not a perfect weekend without a tractor flat!"

Seriously considering asking the younger store owner for a reserved parking space with my name on it.

His father originally opened the tire store in 1966 after coaching high school football for several years.

Always call him "coach" every time I catch him at the store.

We took two rims in to the tire shop Sat. to get new tires for the sprayer. The guy at the counter greeted us by name and said "Saturday wouldn"t be Saturday if ya"ll didn"t have a tire to fix".

Jc Whitney beadbreaker 35 bucks,Tire irons; make with torches and smooth on belt sander.Frame to work tire on; 2x4s in square shape, almost free, tire soap and swab 10 bucks, large tire hammer Ken Tools; 50 bucks.Sneakers to pull tire onto rim while standing on tire so you dont pinch tube[well the sneaker price does'nt count].Gym workout cancelled for the day.

Lucky for us the tire shop is only about 5 miles from home. Plus we've got a guy who live just past our feilds whpo's unemployed right now and he's got a tire changer in his garage. He's a couple bucks cheaper than the tire shop.

Still wanting to get our own someday, that post above about how many tires we have on the farm makes a guy think some...

I keep tellin' ya - that ole 1066 is tired and don't want to work no more!:^) My cousin just put new batteries in his - the 1466 got the new tires.

I just put a new 9.5L 15 8 ply quad rib on the 966. A mere 158.70 at the local Cenex. At least it was a Firestone that matched the right side.

Guys at the tire store think I represent "job security"! But for what it costs to have them spin a tire off and repair it, I can't afford to try to do it myself. Too much like work! Got over a hundred tires around here, and that's a little scary! I've been upgrading tiers this spring, hopefully, I won't have such a risk of flats in the rush season this summer. And when isn't it the rush season?
