Enough is Enough

I know I shouldn't complain about the rain, but since April 1st we've had over 15" of rain here in central Md.Sure is putting a dent in the farming around here.I see in parts of the midwest is similar, just wondering what your totals are?

trkr,

Md is not that large , where are you
located ? I'm in the NE corner of harford co.
Got 84 acres of string beans here that are
up 2 to 3 inches and doing well.

Rain here has been as abundant as poor choices and crooks in the new administration. Lots and lots of it.

Hey George, we in AA county got a week of good weather, last week in May, I got all 8 acres of hay up, and 2-1/2 A of sudax planted, before this week or so of more rain!

For the most part the rainfall has been close to ideal for around here (for a change). Could use a shower (talking Monday) because some of the soybeans are crusting on the heavy ground due to a storm 3 weeks ago. Some of the crusting is so hard I think it would damage the beans if it were rotary hoe'd.
We also could stand the days and nights to be 5 to 10 degrees warmer as nothing is really taking off.

I hear yah. I am sick of it also. Wish I could share some of the rain with somebody. In my area of Penna. we have had rain 10 out of the last 14 days and it has been cold.
Yesterday 65 today 65 last week 66 degrees for the highs. I planted sweet corn the last week of April and it is only 4 in high. Supposed to be nice and sunny Sat. and then rain Sun. night and then showers on and off next week. Can't even think about making hay.

As you can see having 12 to 15" of rain in over 2 months can be normal. Just depends on where you live.
While we had a wet (normal) start to this year it has been very dry the past few months.
The odd part about our weather is the cold fronts. We had one go threw in the past 24 hours. It is very unusual and almost unheard of for us to get cold fronts this late in the year this far south.

My son lives in Frederick Md and is also complaining about all the rain he is getting. Best part is he should be use to it since he is from the deep south.

Have had over 40 inches of rain in South Alabama this year since January 1st, has broken record set in 1975 when 35 inches had been recorded up to this date. We need lots of sunshine, can't cut hay or get in the fields at this time, water standing everywhere.
