Good afternoon.

Been too busy with work to log on much this week, but spotted an Economy tractor on the Flint, MI craigslist. I think it was Sundays. Can't remember the price.

I had never heard of them up until the discussions on here the last few weeks.

I thought they were a great little tractor. Designed more like a real tractor. Kohler engines. Drive train was good for at least 25 HP. Came with a three speed but offered a second three speed as an option. I could have bought a new Power King in 1970 for $1000. By the 1980's they had priced themselves out of existence. I no longer have a need for a tractor that size but if I did I'd sure be looking for a used Economy.

They make a good tractor with a 1600 Toyota car engine & 5 speed transmision Installed in the place of the one lunger they come with. I changed one over for a friend, Had to lengthin the frame and just used a u-joint between rear trans and the 5 speed. Used a gravely governor. once set up it ran fine, and you talk about mowing .

I have had an Economy graden tractor for several years,I have the mower ,front blade and a 3pt roto tiller,I really like it,plenty of power, heavy enough to push a fair amount of dirt to,
