I have a 1976 IH 1066. The tachometer lens is so faded you can"t read anything under it. It has the black plastic knob in the center you turn as well. I can"t find any place that just cells the lens itself. They only have the whole tachometer to buy. Does anyone know where to just buy the lens and second if not what should i try to clean the lens with? Rubbing Compound?

Thanks,

Les

Try "Flitz" from wally world (in the auto motive section) it will clear plastic head light lenses

Rubbing compound did not work on the plastic lenses on my headlights. Got a kit called "bright solutions" at the auto parts. Worked very well.

The kit contained a 4in x 4in sheet of 2000 grit and a sheet of 1500 grit and some very fine liquid rubbing compound. Cost $15.00.

MY 966 had the same problem. Nothing would restore it. I found one on ebay. Plastic, about 25 dollars. But it looks great.

i went to NAPA and got some 3M plastic cleaner and then 3M plastic polish. Professionial Grade. Pricey! But worked great....

I thought I would pass it own to you all
