I recently inherited a international 504. I cant find much information on the internet about it. Can anyone tell me more about it. The propane tank has a date stamped on in 1961.....so i figure the tractor is a early 60's model. Also, what is the value of the tractor? It runs fine, looks great, and has only 888 hours on it.

Might want to go over to the Farmall board, lots of folks there that have more experience with that one than I have. They appear to be a good little tractor until they need engine work, the engine is not sleeved, so a re-bore is necessary if they can't be ringed to solve oil burning issues. With an LP gasser, you probably will never wear the engine out. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I may be wrong on this but I think the 504 International and Farmall Tractors replaced the 340 series tractors. The 340 followed the 60 series[460-560-660]into production. The 504 Series followed the 06 series [706-806-1206] series into production. That said I "think" the 06's & the 504's went into production about 1966-67.Why your propane tank is stamped 1961 I don't have a clue.Maybe your Tractor was converted with parts from an older unit, maybe the tank was in storage a long time before being needed.Advertising pictures of the 504 pulling a 4/14" #60 Plow are not representative of the tractors ability. It was basically a 3/14" Plow tractor on most midwest farms. The 504 was an excellent little tractor on a 7' Sickle Mower cutting hay, raking hay, running a baler, pulling wagons etc.and the International model made a good loader tractor or one to pull a 6' brush cutter with. Many, many Jobs these Tractors were capable of doing and doing in class .JH

They came LP,gas or diesel. The Farmalls are basically the same tractor just the row crop version.I have no idea on the year but I would expect the tank to be older than the tractor. 3 bottom tractors, the engines are a hot rodded Super C with no sleeves.
