Going rate for a roll of 4x5 hay

Would help to know where, what kind, quality, amount of fertilize, etc. Hay can run from free to 80 dollars. Tom

Guess it's expensive to be a Texan.......

I just settled on 26 euro ($40) a roll stored under roof and I can pick up as needed. Nothing fancy, but 1st cut mixed stuff. Not really fertilized except the second cut is cut and left and horse manure is scattered once a year.

Well, heree in my area, we just had the driest May on record since some time in the late 1800's. So I would say we will see 4x5's in the $55-$75. I bought 56 4x5's of last years meadow hay for $20, and just made a deal for 50 5x5's of last falls meadow hay for $25. That will be the cheapest hay any one will get in this area. The first purchase was done early spring before there was any inclination of a drought. 2ND PURCHASE WAS A GRAB IN NOW OR IT WOLD BE SOLD IN 60 SECONDS. All most every pasture here is eaten down to 1/4". Starting to see alot of ad's for cow calf pairs in the shoppers already.
