Looking for some V10 owners to share your experience and thoughts on the V10. Power, mileage (yeah, I'm sure it's bad), longevity....ect. Been offered a clean, low mileage one at WAY below book. Thanks

had a 02 4dr 3/4 ton. got 14 intown and 17 on road. 7 and 8 pulling 14k trailer. bought at 40000 miles sold 9 mnth later at 82000 for same money. if the abs light comes on check the wire for a break 6inchs from rear end. also drive with radio off at 45mph and let off the gas and slowly press it. listen for rear end noise. bad about the left center chunk bearing going out. check the fluid for shavings.i would love to have another one.02 4dr short box v-10

I've got a pair of them. One in a F450 4wd dump, the other in a F350 4wd dump, both automatics. Power is good, both trucks pull trailers every day plus a load in the bed. 14mpg empty, 10 or so loaded and pulling a trailer. I've been real please with them.

We have one in an E 360 van at work that we have done a lot of towing with. It has about 90k on the clock now. It has been trouble free. It has adequet power and gets about 8 mpg with a big trailer on the interstate. It is smooth and quiet. There have been postings about them needing inserts in the spark plug holes.

I've had my '01 F350 (ex. cab, long box, V10, manual) for 6 months now. Very happy with it, although I don't do a lot of driving. About 180,000 on it, good oil pressure, doens't use any oil, good power, about 16 m.p.g. highway, averaging 13 for my normal driving (loaded, empty, light towing). Figure thats pretty decent considering the power.
There's a Ford truck site... lots of V10 fans there... some over 300,000 and counting. Fordtruckenthusists.com or something like that.

Sluuurp! She's gonna be thirsty. But, if it's a good deal weigh the long term costs of ownership. The two at work that we have haven't given us any more trouble than the Ford's usually give us.

I am not a V10 owner but I know 3 guys that have them and they love them. One is a camper truck the other 2 are farm trucks so they have had loads on them. My boss told me one time that he knew a lot of guys that hauled equipment that switched from the Powerstroke to the V10 because it had more power, but I don't know if that holds true anymore.
