Stolen machinery

I went to hook up to my 7 foot Woods rotery chopper I bought new last spring last night, and it was gone. By the tracks, someone had a small tractor, like a Kabota, with turf tires on it, on a trailer. You can see by the tracks where they unloaded it, hooked up to the chopper, and drove back on the trailer and left. Wonderful! I would never have thought someone would steal a three point piece of equipment. I don't have enough sheds to lock up all my equipment. What a bunch of crap!

call local police who have jurisdiction at your location, if you don't have serial number your dealer possibly does, your insurance co. will need a police report.

start shopping with your computer/Ebay, Craigs list etc...even this site...dopes might try and sell and you will know your equipment better than anyone. Good luck...in what city/area did this happen?

That surely sucks. How did it happen that they were able to see it as to want it? Do you live close by a road? I live by a busy highway and have learned to put things that someone could try to steal out of sight, behind a building or trees. That way they have to tramps around behind the house.

I can put up with a lot, but when people steal from me that's just not right. These people are the bottom feeders of our society. I had a car stolen from my place a few years back. It kind of leaves you with a empty feeling. I got my car back about three months later all beat up. I hope you find your mower. Stan

Give you a bit of advice. 75 years ago my grandfather went to the barn one morning to find two 4-5 week old pigs from a liter of 10 missing. He said nothing to anyone. When my grandmother asked where the two pigs were. He responded, " The sow laid on them." He was surprised she fell for it, sows just don't lay on 4-5 week old pigs.

Three months later a neighbor asked, "George did you ever find out who stole your little pigs." My grandfather replied, " Never until NOW." Immediately he got paid for two weanling pigs.

Thieves came to where I work and cut the six foot fence down hooked up to one of the trailers jacked up three trucks and stole the tires off of them loaded up two big construction tool boxes full of tools with the companies hot wired forklift
and also stole alot of other misc.items. Had to have taken them a least an hour to steal as much as they stole.Just unbelievable what people will do now days.I hope you recover your mower and catch the theives that stole it from you.Good luck

Too late for yours, and I"m sorry for your loss. I had a battery swiped out of a tractor right in the yard, near the house recently. Makes you feel violated. I have taken digital photos of all my machinery, stored on my computer. That way, if I have a theft, I can provide Barney Fife with photos of actual items. Many cops, especially city raised state troops, wouldn"t know what they were looking for if you told them make, model, serial, etc....

Ever see a grown man cry like a little girl? I have when my .45 was pointed at him waiting for the sheriff. This was after he tried to steal tools out of my shop. He got in there but my dog wouldnt let him back out. Funny thing was I grabbed my colt went outside and forgot to put the clip in the gun. Good thing he was not very smart.I should have let the dog in and locked the door behind him and waited till morning but that would be cruel and unusual punishment.
