I was wondering if any one remembers the IHC #24
cornpicker that could be mounted on the H or M tractor. Was that picker produced as a single row pull type picker? I thought I saw one along a fence row about 800 feet from the interstate. I dont remember if IHC made such a picker...Thanks

The one that mounted on an H or M was a 2 row picker that was notorious for setting your tractor on fire.
I am not sure of the modle number.
New Idea also made one, My uncle called his new idea mounted picker "shelly" becuase it left a trail of shelled corn on the ground.

Yes wwe had one on the M it was two rows but they had a model using same unit for the C that was one row. The 24 was replaced with model 20 also had one of them.

Neighbors had 2m Farmall and then got 24"s .One used an SM and the other had a 450, I started Farming with a farm sale MM 2 row pull with a side elevator, boy was that fun, then I got a new AC33 2 row mtd, then a used Oliver #4 on a 88D.Finally I got a new Ford 2 row mtd for my D17 and that was a fine Corn picker. The first ones could be called ,as one fella noted, "shelly" I called them junk! I used that ford for a lot of years. Rebuilt it twice.Saw no reason to get another one as we started to field shell with a Gleaner combine.

The question was did IHC make a single row picker out of the 24 into a pull type. thank you for all the replies.
