engine starts and runs fine for about 10 minutes then starts sputtering and dies.after sitting for a while starts up and runs fine for another 10 minutes.have i got dirt in the carb or is my coil breaking down?

Could be your gas tank vent is blocked.

Are you running a 12 volt or 6 volt system? If running a 12 volt system you should have a ballast resistor hooked in the ignition system before the coil.

Disconnect your fuel line or pull the drain plug on your carb and see what kind of fuel flow you have, this will tell you if your line is clogged.
