trailer/hay storage

I am looking for something simple to put up for storing trailers & hay under. I am thinking I would like a single-slope roof & approximately 30' x 40' in size. I have searched everywhere on the internet to try to find building plans or pictures of how to construct with NO LUCK. Just was wondering if anybody on here had any pictures (or advice) on a single slope building they have?

If you build one like that be sure you put it so the lower side faces the main winds you may get. Other wise you can loose a roof in a strong wind. I learned that the hard way and need to rebuild a shed I have because the roof went on a flying lessen

To each his own, but it seems to me that to get 'much' slope, either one side's gonna be too high or the other side's gonna be too low. Personally, I'd go with another roof design on that size building.

Shoot me an email and I can get you some pics of what mine are. Most of mine are 60 feet long and 18 feet deep though I do have one thats 28 feet. Hard to find rafters longer than 20 feet.

Nancy and I started <a href="http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa5/jameslloydhowell/Hay%20Barn/?action=view&current=543b025a.pbw">building our hay barn</a> in 2006 and finished before hay season in 2007.

All the work was done on weekends.

The dimensions are approximately 45" by 45".

The roof has a 2' drop from front to back.

All the lumber is used and the barn poles are solid cedar.

All braces are fastened with lag screws.

Nails only in the runners that support sheet metal.

Drilled all holes for screws and nails.

A lot of hard work on our part.

If you have a Menards store in your area, they sell pole barn kits in all sizes. They probably have all kinds of literature for you.

As far as hay barns go, it seems like a lot of people in my area just buy the roof part of the kit and build it on telephone poles without any sides on it. Then stack round bales on end (3 or 4 high).
