tractor salvage yards near Fort Wayne, IN

About the only ones I know of are Dennis Polk Equipment in New Paris, IN. They are @ US 6 & St Rd 15. The other would be Frey & Sons in Archibald, OH.
 
Not over right near Ft. Wayne, but about midway between Elkhart and Wakarusa on SR. 19 is Myers Implement. 574/294-1008. I was born in '60 and they were there then. You'll know it by the WC mounted way up high on columns. They are huge and got more salvaged stuff and got used tractors and implements. And are very nice folks to deal with. On Saturdays are only open 7-10 though.

There is also Heine(not sure of spelling) just south of Mishawaka on 331 and about 2 miles east. I think it is Roosevelt Road.
 
What happened to D.Polk? Went past there
last weakend, Had my 4y/o Daughter all
primed to see some John Deere's, and the
place looked closed up. Just a couple of
tractors on the lot.
Needles to say, she was dissapointed!
 
Did you look on the south side of the road? I was down there last week and Mc Grews had close to 100 tractors around. Polk doesn't do any business anymore, he has leased everything to McGrews and works with them as an auctioneer.
 
Thanks for the info. Meyers doesn't have much left in the salvage row. Most has been picked over pretty good. Can never seem to get to Hein's on Sunday/Mon. Wanted to get over there the last couple of weeks before the weeds got big and you can't find the tractors. Started a new job in Ft Wayne which is why I was wondering what was over there. Polks sold the salvage side to McGrews and last time I was by they added McGrews to the Polk auction side too. I've also been to Worthington's in Leesburg a time or 2. thanks.
