john deere 350 hay rake worth fixing?

hi,i was thinking of buying a jd 350 3 point hay rake for 300 bucks? it needs bearings, belt, hay forks, tires, paint.are they worth it?can you get parts for it? thank you.

Price a good used 3 wheeler new holland rake and compare it with the high cost of John Deere parts. Enter 350 at Jdparts.com and gather all the parts, and add them to your shopping cart to find out a price to repair it.

Chances are you'll break even.

No way. Pony up the 500 or so for an IH 16 or a new Holland side delivery pulled rake. Short a tractor one time so we hitched up my IH 16 to the back of the Suzuki Samurai. It was great, inside, radio on, just wished I hadn't trashed the A/C on the thing.

You'll find the CNH parts are priced pretty similar to the JD parts these days. I agree about the newer model 3-wheeled ground drive rakes though. They are so light that you can move them around by hand and pull them with just about anything. They're a lot more convenient to have around than a 3pt or hydraulic/pto hookup implement in my opinion.

Ever if it was free you couldn't come out. I did about the same thing but mine was free 1000.00 dollars later is was working. Won't do that again.

Had one...hated it..Flat field OK..any washouts and you"ll leave more than you get.Piece of shi$$.
